Where we nurture brain development for lifelong success in a rapidly changing world.
We celebrate each child’s individuality and help them discover how they can best contribute to our world and culture. All children are naturally curious and love to learn; we support this innate drive by providing environments that meet children’s developmental needs, guided by a staff of loving and well-prepared adults and building a community of families that actively support our mission.
At Nido Dei Bambini Montessori, we are dedicated to nurturing the brain development of our students, providing them with essential skills such as adaptability, self-regulation, and cognitive flexibility to succeed in an ever-evolving world. Guided by the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, our premier program offers personalized learning experiences within a supportive environment where every child is valued and empowered to realize their full potential.
Myla is the passionate founder and guiding force behind Nido Dei Bambini Montessori Preschool. With over 34 years of experience in both Montessori and traditional early childhood education, her journey has been marked by dedication, discovery, and a profound love and care for children and their families. Although she began her career with a degree in psychology, Myla discovered the Montessori philosophy at just 22 years old—a moment that changed her life. That spark became a lifelong calling.
Myla trained with both the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and Western Montessori Teachers College, focusing on the Casa program for children ages 3 to 6. Over the years, she has taken on many roles: Montessori lead guide, guidance counsellor, academic head, and instructional leader coach.
Today, she also serves as the Executive Director and Childcare Consultant for the Calgary Children’s Dayhome Agency, bringing her leadership and care into a wider community of educators and families. In her pursuit to deepen her Montessori practice, Myla recently completed her AMI Infant and Toddler training through the Montessori Institute of Prague. This milestone enables her to work even more closely with the youngest learners, infants and toddlers, during their most formative years. She is also a certified Montessori Parent and Child Facilitator, trained under Pamela Green of Ananda Montessori in Pasadena, California.
But Myla's connection to Montessori isn’t only professional, it’s personal. As a mother, she raised her own two children using Montessori principles, and she’s seen firsthand how this approach can nurture independence, curiosity, and confidence. Her children, now thriving young adults, are living proof of the Montessori difference.
It’s this personal and professional journey that led Myla to co-found Nido Dei Bambini Preschool. Her vision is clear: to build a space where children, parents, and educators can grow together, grounded in the empowering philosophy of Montessori. Through programs like the Montessori Parent and Child classes, Myla hopes to share this gift with families across Calgary, creating a warm, thoughtful community where every child can thrive from the very beginning.
