Montessori Parent-Infant Program (NIDO)
“The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself, his greatest implement, is being formed. But not only his intelligence; the full totality of his psychic powers.” Dr. Maria Montessori
According to Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, the first six years of life are crucial for the comprehensive development of children and the fulfillment of their inherent potential. This period witnesses remarkable physical growth and development in infants and children, prompting a profound commitment to their care and nurturing.
Our Parent- Infant Program lays the foundation for skills further developed in the Parent-Toddler Program. This weekly class offers a special bonding experience for parents and infants while exploring Montessori principles together. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with like-minded families and build a supportive community.
Our Purpose
Weekly experiences in a Montessori environment while a Certified Montessori Guide creates opportunities for parents to observe and learn about their child’s development.
Monthly parent-only discussions facilitated by a Montessori guide.
Online resources, including topical links, videos, and reading, that align with the course outline.
A home consultation, if desired.
Classes are divided into 6-week sessions and facilitated by a Montessori-certified guide.
During these weekly sessions, parents have the opportunity to witness and learn more about the wonders of their child’s development.
Additionally, time will be dedicated to incorporating Montessori principles into their home environment.
The carefully chosen furniture, materials, and activities in the environment are designed to support the child’s freedom and independence.
This prepared environment serves as a space where adults can come together, connect, and inquire about Montessori principles.
